Russell Westbrook fined for profanity used during postgame interview

Bulls beat top-seeded Celtics to take 2-0 series lead BOSTON - Jimmy Butler scored 22 points, Rajon Rondo finished one rebound shy of a triple-double and the Chicago Bulls beat the Boston Celtics 111-97 on Tuesday night to take a 2-0 lead in their series against the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Westbrook averaged a triple-double during the Thunder's 47-win regular season to state his case for MVP.

He shot 4-for-18 in the fourth quarter as the Rockets clawed back from a double-digit deficit to surge ahead before holding off Oklahoma City. His team ultimately losing a heartbreaker to the Rockets, which now puts he and his team down 0-2 in the series as they head back to Oklahoma City.

In addition, four more players posted in double figures, Patrick Beverley (21), Nene (15), Clint Capela (14), and Lou Williams (11) in game-1. Dwight Howard had only seven rebounds, half his Game 1 total, and scored six points. When asked about how he would grade his stat line, the NBA MVP candidate responded, "I don't give a f- about the line". However, when Houston jarred OKC with a 9-0 run late in the third quarter of Game 2, Westbrook's bench time was cut short.

Taj Gibson and Steven Adams are managed well for his team, OKC Thunder in the first game against Rockets.

The Thunder was the better team for most of three quarters during Game 2 but unraveled during the fourth. He put together the first 50-point triple-double in National Basketball Association postseason history. "This is a great group, and they play together and they play hard". Oklahoma City made just 7 of 30 3-pointers. Westbrook, who often encountered tight defense from Houston forward Trevor Ariza, was 4 of 18 in the fourth and still scored 15 of Oklahoma City's 22 points.

When the night was over, Harden had finished with 35 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds.

Westbrook typically gets a chance to rest during the final two minutes of the third period and the first couple of minutes of the fourth.

Andre Roberson added 12 points, eight boards, three blocks and a pair of steals for the Thunder, while Victor Oladipo (11 points, nine boards) and Doug McDermott (11 points) were the other main contributors.

"They brought three people", Westbrook said.

The Thunder were assertive on both ends to start, attacking the rim on offense while pressing Rockets shooters on the perimeter. The irony, though, is that Westbrook fell just one rebound shy of hitting the Bulls with a TD in January while his career-best score of 58 points came against the Trail Blazers in March.

Harden paced the Rockets with 35 points and eight assists, and did so by making just seven of 17 shots.

Los Angeles stormed to a 12-point lead in the first quarter, reeling off the kind of dunks that earned the team's Lob City moniker years ago. How much of the OKC offensive stagnation is on Westbrook and how much of that falls on his teammates depends on which side of the chicken-egg debate you stand on, but the Westbrook one-man show did work well for them in a lot of close games this season.

"We looked like we needed some energy, looked like we needed a spark and I think in the first and second half (the second unit) was able to do it", he said.
