If you were planning on buying a new Mac, now's the time: Apple has just refreshed its iMac and MacBook lines.
My time with the new 12-inch MacBook, 15-inch MacBook Pro and iMac amounted to roughly six to seven hours, which isn't enough to put together a full review of any of the devices.
The speed improvements and graphics boost help to create a slick experience and, although we've not yet fully tested the new desktop, it certainly feels like it will deal with most memory-hungry tasks. The iMac features a 3.5mm headphone jack, built-in SDXC card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.0 ports and two USB-C ports.
You can now stuff even more memory into the computer.
. The 13-inch non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt 3 ports starts at $1,729, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar begins at $2,399 CAD.
If you were disappointed that Apple didn't debut its new MacBook Pro design with the latest Intel processors, the 2017 models are just the thing you've been waiting for. The Radeon Pro 570, meanwhile, offers 28 compute units with 1,792 total stream processors and significantly boosted 217GB/s memory bandwidth for a promised 3.6 T/FLOPS, while the Radeon Pro 575 ups the stakes to 32 compute units for 2,048 stream processors and 4.5 T/FLOPS peak performance.
If you have an earlier (non-Pro) iMac and are wondering if you should upgrade, that all depends on your specific needs; but it is worth at least comparing your current specs with the upgraded lineup. The notable win here is for the 21.5-inch Retina models, which were previously limited to integrated Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200.
On the outside the iMac Pro resembles its less gutsy brethren but features AppleSpace Grey colour scheme rather than the silvery white associated with iMacs. The base 1.2GHz Core m3 model is still $1,299 (£1,249 or AU$1,899), while a 1.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 is $1,599 (£1,549 or AU$2,349) and a dual-core Core i7 is $1,749 (£1,684 or AU$2,589).
Apple's MacBook 2017 with a 12-inch LED-backlit Retina display gets a starting price of Rs 109,900 in India.
Apple has now unveiled a raft of updates to some of its most popular product ranges, including the iPad, iMac and MacBook.
Thanks to an all-new thermal design, as well as an all-flash architecture, the iMac Pro can deliver up to 80% more cooling capacity in the familiar iMac form factor. Benchmarks will show how much faster the combination of new CPUs and higher clock speeds will be, but I suspect purchases will mostly be based on price.
Radeon Pro 500 cards are available in the updated AppleiMac devices and feature support for 4K and 5K displays.
With Fusion Drive, the apps and files you use the most are automatically stored on fast flash storage, while everything else moves to a high-capacity hard drive. I'm editing in the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017, and I have made a decision to edit off of the internal SSD drive without any scratch drives, just to make it a bit more challenging on the machine.
At WWDC, Tim Cook & Co. announced a new iMac lineup with updated CPUs, better displays and enhanced graphics capabilities.
Siding against ally Qatar, Trump injects US into Arab crisis
Oil prices surged on Monday before settling lower as the rupture was seen as having little impact on global oil supplies. Claire McCaskill, whose home state Missouri produces the F-15 and F-18, said she hoped the crisis would not derail it.
Live donkey fed to tigers in China zoo
In the clip, two tigers are shown approaching the donkey as it struggled in the water, with one tiger biting its neck. Their objections center on the zoo's debts and legal troubles, which resulted in a court freezing the zoo's assets.
