Kimmy Schmidt's third season, which dropped in May, left fans questioning what's next for many of their favorite characters.

Netflix isn't wasting time renewing Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. After finally escaping from a bunker, where she was held captive by an evil Reverend for most of her life, Kimmy moves to NY to start over. Netflix confirmed that the series will be getting a fourth-season, following another terrific year of customer and critic reviews.

A Netflix comedy series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt stars Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Carol Kane, Jane Krakowski, Jon Hamm, Fred Armisen, and Mike Carlsen. They've had success with Marvel superheroes, dramas, and more, but have also found comedy to be a strong suit as well.

The renewal shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, as the series is one of the most-celebrated on Netflix. No word on possible guest stars or where the story is going, but with the kind of downer ending for Kimmy and the gang in Season 3, there's nowhere to go but up. You can only play the shtick so long, and then we need to get to know something new about Kimmy.

Executive producers include Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.
