At his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan has concern over the current situation of Gulf countries and maintained that it is time to take serious measures.

Expressing apprehensions over the Indian violations on Line of Control and working boundary, he pronounced that India is playing havocs with the peace and stability of the region.

Zakaria reiterated that India is involved in deteriorating Pak-Afghan relations whereas it is also using Afghanistan's soil against Pakistan.

He said Pakistan has constantly raised its concern on the issue at all the related forums.

Zakaria again accused India of deliberately escalating operations on the Kashmir cease-fire line to divert worldwide attention from rights abuses against locals by Indian troops in their part of the divided territory.

He categorically stated that Pakistan has no desire to escalate tension but our armed forces would respond effectively to any unprovoked violation from Indian side. We have always exercised restraint.

"We have cautioned India from making any strategic miscalculation".

India has long argued that Pakistan has illegally occupied PoK denying its people basic rights.

Earlier on June 7, India at the United Nations 35th session of the Human Rights Council highlighted Pakistan's role in supporting terrorism in Kashmir and called upon the global body for a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.

"We remain unconvinced by the belief in certain quarters that the true promotion and protection of human rights can be achieved through naming and shaming, particularly in the case of thriving pluralistic societies with deep-rooted democratic traditions and institutions", Indian representative to UN Rajiv Chander purportedly said.

"Unfortunately, no such thing ever materialised".

The spokesperson said Afghanistan has been in turmoil for over forty years, and this situation has given space to terrorists.
