The star has now proven true to her word, taking to Instagram Stories to share videos of herself helping to sort through donations at one of the many refuge points in the area.

Adele made an appearance at Grenfell Tower on Wednesday evening, less than 24 hours after a horrific blaze devastated the building, killing and injuring hundreds of residents.

Tragically, 12 people have been confirmed dead as a result, with the death toll expected to rise, and an estimated 2,000 have been left without a home.

LOCAL girl Rita Ora could not sit idly by as Grenfell Tower - where she used to play as a child - continued to smoulder yesterday.

"Respect to both of you", FourMee wrote in her post.

West Londoner Rita Ora was also spotted sorting through clothing bags for families affected by the disaster, whilst TOWIE star Tommy Mallett also visited the site to bring numerous boxes of clothes for people who had lost everything in the fire.

She was notably wearing a black abaya, a simple, robe-like dress, worn by some women in parts of the Muslim world, and kept a low profile at the scene.

She later posted on Instagram: 'This is my neighbourhood I can't believe this is happening. She took to social media to write: "My prayers are with everybody involved my heart is beating so fast".

Earlier, the singer and former X Factor judge said she used to play in the tower block.

Adele is reported to have visited the scene of the fire on Wednesday night. "I used to play in that block". She was "going around and hugging everyone she could to comfort them", it added. "I want to do all I can to help".
