Special Counsel Robert Mueller Is Reportedly Probing Jared Kushner's Business Dealings

Jared Kushner's business dealings and finances are being investigated by Special Counsel Robert Mueller as part of his probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election, the Washington Post reports.

CBS News confirmed late last month that Kushner is under scrutiny in the probe into Russian election meddling.

The development comes a day after the daily reported that Mueller had extended his probe into determining whether the President tried to obstruct justice by suggesting to top intelligence and law enforcement officials that they end the Russian Federation investigation.

Kushner's attorney, Jamie Gorelick, told the Washington Post "we don't know what this report refers to". Russian Federation investigation special counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly investigating Kushner's finances. "Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about Russia-related matters. He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry".

Another new revelation about the FBI investigation into Trump and Russian Federation from the Washington Post. At issue are two meetings he had in December, during the Trump administration's transition period: one with Sergey Kislyak, Russia's ambassador to the United States, and the other with Sergey Gorkov, who runs a Russian state-owned bank and is close to Putin.

In a subsequent early-morning tweet, Trump called the investigation "the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history".

Baker's views didn't change, even as Comey told Trump a second and third time that he was not being investigated.

And, according to Mueller's spokesman, Peter Carr, more attorneys are on the way.

About a week later, Mueller, another former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, was appointed, over Trump's opposition, as special counsel to lead the criminal probe.

"To the best of my recollection, I have never been directed to do anything I believe to be illegal, immoral, unethical or inappropriate", Rogers said at the hearing, without answering whether he was asked - but not directed - to back off. At the time of that report, it was not clear that the FBI was investigating Kushner's business dealings.

Jeannie Rhee, one of those attorneys, represented Hillary Clinton during her email scandal.

But days later, Trump said in an NBC interview that he had chose to fire Comey before getting their input and he was thinking of "this Russian Federation thing" when he did it.

Rep. Jim Himes, a Democratic member of the House Intelligence committee, says "we are a ways yet from being able to conclude anything" when it comes to his committee's investigation into Russia's actions in the 2016 election.

Trump fired Comey on May 9.
