Philippe Coutinho has submitted a transfer request at English football club, Liverpool as he looks to move to Barcelona. After Jürgen Klopp insisted that Coutinho was not for sale, that stance was reiterated in a statement by the club's owners Fenway Sports Group.

"Hopefully, when I play I will bring good performances to the team and I hope that everybody brings a good performance to help us win the game".

After conflicting reports earlier on Friday, it has now been widely reported that Philippe Coutinho has officially requested a move away from Liverpool.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland, August 5.

"But the stuff about not getting on with Klopp, these stories getting fed out, that's where I think that crosses the line".

Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise has taken to social media platform Twitter to let know his verdict on the saga.

So far, the Reds have rejected all bids by Barca and the club has released a statement on Friday morning stating that "no offers would be considered" for Coutinho.

It wasn't long until reports emerged that Philippe Coutinho had himself emailed in a transfer request.

Liverpool's owner had stated: "We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho".

Questioned on whether his job now was to keep Coutinho happy, Klopp added: "I can't keep players happy. The rest is not for you, it is between me and all the boys, not just Phil". "I said there'd be a riot if he went and I still stand by that".

As well as being unavailable for Liverpool's league campaign-opener at Vicarage Road, Coutinho is a doubt for Tuesday's Champions League qualifying play-off first leg against Hoffenheim in Germany.

It is understood Barcelona are prepared to pay up to £110 million for Coutinho, who signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract at Liverpool in January, but FSG's statement had seemed to clear up his future.
