A solar flare has led to a deterioration of communication on Earth

Head of the Center for space weather of Institute of terrestrial magnetism, ionosphere and radio wave propagation named Pushkov of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IZMIRAN) Sergey Gaydash told about the deteriorating relations in the United States and Europe after the last solar flare.

The solar surge caught some experts off guard because the sun was approaching its solar minimum, its lowest level of activity in its 11-year cycle. Besides, two significant solar flares imaged by NASA's SDO are Live Now.

As of about 11.30am NZT, data from several satellites showed a sharp increase in activity. "An X2 is twice as intense as an X1, an X3 is three times as intense, etc".

The flares were blasted at 5:10 a.m. EDT (0910 GMT), and at 8:02 a.m. EDT (1202 GMT).

Nasa captured two high-intensity solar flares emitted from the Sun on Wednesday. The radiation coming from the flares, could disrupt communications satellites, the Global Positioning System and power grids by reaching the upper Earth atmosphere.

Solar flares occur in cooler regions of the sun, called sunspots.

Wednesday's flares were ranked using the X-class system, which is used to measure the intensity of particularly strong flares. The result is superheating of the sun's surface coupled with a blast of energy that triggers radiation storms in the Earth's atmosphere.

The flares that occurred September 6 were responsible for high-frequency radio blackouts on the dayside of the planet lasting an hour. While some older satellites could be hampered when hit with charged particles and strong magnetic fields from the sun, the probe which is providing images of Irma - GOES-16 - is new, having just been launched last November, he noted.

The Sun may not be done yet, either - the large group of sunspots, which is visible through a protective solar filter (including those solar eclipse glasses you may still have lying around), has already sent out other, weaker M-class flares.

Also, the flares can cause throw out people's internal clocks. They should be arriving within a few days.
