Just don't expect to find any of Huawei's phones in the top 10 most popular devices. Now, this suggests that the Honor V10 will be fueled by the all-new Kirin 970 SoC which was announced by Huawei at IFA, and that is not exactly a huge surprise considering that the Honor V9 was fueled by the Kirin 960, which was Huawei's flagship SoC for past year. Huawei's Australian Twitter account has virtually confirmed the Mate 10 will come with a dual-lens camera, which is expected to feature Leica technology once again.

One of the rare spottings on the rumor radar this year is the Huawei Mate 10. To see is to believe, and we will definitely see when the Huawei Mate 10 is unveiled 16 October.

Some fresh renders purporting to be of the upcoming Huawei Mate 10 have appeared online, courtesy of Indian tech site Compareraja and usually reliable leaker OnLeaks. The bezels are still very thin while the edges are rounded. Also, it's not quite clear whether the fingerprint sensor will double as a home button or not. We know this because the leaks keep coming and who leaks phones no one cares about? The clean back of the phone is dominated by the dual cameras, with the flash and sensors module on the sides. As for ports, the Mate 10 is said to arrive with the 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port.

Without giving specific sales data for either company for the previous three months, Counterpoint's research director Peter Richardson said Huawei's first successful toppling of Apple represents a significant milestone for China's largest smartphone brand, and "speaks volumes of how far this primarily network infrastructure vendor has grown in the consumer mobile handset space in the last three to four years". Meanwhile, everyone is now keeping an eye out for Apple as it prepares to announce the iPhone 8 next week on September 12.

As for internals, Huawei CEO Richard Yu claimed that the Mate 10 would be a "more powerful product" with "many other features" that will help them better compete with Apple.

New CAD renders of the Huawei Mate 10 shows off its thinner bezels and taller display.
