Unfortunately, Facebook has not revealed any plans for an iOS version of Messenger Lite, whether only for developing countries or also for the United States. But now its expansion into Facebook's top developed world markets makes it a tool for penny-pinching users like teenagers who want to avoid burning away their pricey megabytes but still stay in touch.

The Messenger Lite offers most key features that you would expect in the MessengerAndroid app, including messaging, making voice calls, and group chats. Messenger Lite app has been built for slower networks, and was previously restricted to mostly developing countries.
Having launched FacebookMessenger Lite past year to a limited number of markets, the social networking giant is now pushing its messaging app to the US, Canada, UK and Ireland.

Regarding design, Messenger Lite looks just like the previous version of the regular Messenger app, with the tabs instead of a bottom bar. Messenger Lite is available from the Play Store with an install size of less than 10MB.
Lite version is developed for mobile data-constrained countries and entry-level Android smartphones.
