WASHINGTON-A former Trump campaign adviser told Congress he had a private conversation with a Russian deputy prime minister during the 2016 presidential campaign and that at least two members of the president's team were aware, providing more details to what is publicly known about Moscow's access to U.S. President Donald Trump's circle, according to a congressional transcript released late Monday.

Feinstein is the top ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee and also serves on the Senate Intelligence Committee, which has held a multitude of closed-door hearings into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election.

The full 243-page document is below.

It is still unclear whether Papadopoulos, who pleaded guilty last month to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, told members of the Trump campaign about the emails.

Page also wrote that he had been provided "incredible insights and outreach" by Russian lawmakers and "senior members" of Russian President Vladimir Putin's administration during the trip.

The answer to that seemingly unimportant question is suddenly a key element of the deepening scandal surrounding the campaign's contacts with Russia, following revelations that one member of the team, George Papadopoulos, communicated with Russians connected to the Kremlin.

Page also said he let senior members of Trump's campaign staff know of his trip in July 2016, including then-Republican Senator Jeff Sessions, who is now USA attorney general, as well as senior Trump aides Hope Hicks and Corey Lewandowski. He maintained that his interaction with Dvorkovich consisted of a brief greeting, and that he had learned his views on the campaign while listening to Dvorkovich's public address.

"You have them both reporting back to the campaign, you have the campaign deceiving the public about their knowledge of these things", Schiff said."So I hardly think that these are coincidental". In explaining his email, Page said he spoke briefly with Dvorkovich at a reception - and that he and wanted to share impressions of what he observed on Russian television and in speeches with Trump officials. Sessions reportedly "shut down" Papadopoulos and asserted that the topic should not be discussed again.

He said he was unaware at the time that Papadopoulos was making similar proposals for Trump to travel to Russian Federation, though he acknowledged he had received some of Papadopoulos' emails about Russian Federation. Page said he had mentioned his upcoming trip to Sessions, who at the time was a senior policy adviser to the Trump campaign.

Gordon said he does not recall the email but that he had discouraged Page from going to Moscow.

President Trump also calls the Russian Federation investigation a witch hunt and has repeatedly said there was no collusion between his campaign and the Kremlin. Page said he also told Sam Clovis, another campaign aide.

He has for months said the trip was made as a private citizen, not as part of his role with the Trump campaign.
