OnePlus CEO Pete Lau already has the new smartphone ahead of its launch but he is not willing to reveal any details except giving hints in titbits.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed on the forums that the phone will come out with Dash Charge technology.

They also added that charging with a wire made more sense especially for those that want to use the device to play games or watch videos.

The pricing details of the upcoming OnePlus device recently surfaced and it has now come to light that the phone would be priced in at Rs. 32,999 for the base model.

Dash Charge is one of the fastest charging tech around. However, Lau also didn't slam the door on a future inclusion of the feature. It should be easy but there is a correct way and position to efficiently charge a smartphone with wireless charging. To highlight that fact, earlier this year, the company launched The Lab initiative - 10 lucky fans were chosen to test the OnePlus 5's camera and share their impressions with OnePlus before the device was officially launched. Until wireless charging can reach that level of speed, it will remain my less-preferred option to true fast charging. "But given the current state of this technology, Dash Charge is still the superior choice", he wrote. He also believes to use a wireless charger - one is required to keep their device properly aligned on the pad in order to get the advertised charging rates and energy efficiency. He believes that this - wireless technology has a lot of space to develope now. I've had phones that have had it and seldom used it. Dash Charge makes that process a bit easier, by letting you top off your phone in a little over an hour from zero.

Dash Charge eliminates both of those problems, he added.

They said that they did consider it and that they will offer it if the time is right but it is clear that they don't think now is the right time. "Until then, we'll stick to Dash Charge", Lau said.

Unofficial renders show a phone that apes the all-screen design of Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Apple's iPhone X. The OnePlus 5T is expected to have a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, as well as featuring the latest Android Oreo software.
