It is not clear what prompted Islamabad to permit Jhadav's wife to meet him in Pakistan, the Express Tribune reported. "A Note Verbale has been sent to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, today", a foreign office statement said.

Pakistan has allowed convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav to meet his wife, months after a request was made by the India's Ministry of External Affairs.

Jadhav was arrested in Balochistan, Pakistan, over charges of alleged involvement in espionage and subversive activities for India's intelligence agency - the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

Indian secret service agent, Kulbhushan Yadav, has been awarded death sentence.

He confessed before a Magistrate and the Court that he was tasked by RAW to plan, coordinate and organize espionage / sabotage activities aiming to destabilize and wage war against Pakistan by impeding the efforts of Law Enforcement Agencies for restoring peace in Balochistan and Karachi. The International Court of Justice, in May, halted his execution on India's appeal on in the international platform.

Earlier on October 11, Pakistan had designated former Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani to the International Court of Justice Hague to be its Judge in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case.

The Indian government had moved a visa application for his mother to go and meet Jadhav in Pakistan.

Pakistan falsely claimed its security forces arrested Jadhav from Balochistan on March 3 previous year.

This means that official Indian access to Jadhav will not be allowed. Pakistan will submit counter memorial on or before December 13, 2017.

The General Secretary PIPFPD said that ideally, both Pakistan and India should release all the fishermen, women from their custody.

After India approached the ICJ, a 10-member bench May 18 restrained Pakistan from executing Jadhav until the adjudication of the case.
