An Army jawan was martyred and three terrorists killed in an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night.

A police official quoted by Rising Kashmir says that among the three killed militants Talha Rashid, the nephew of JeM Chief Masood Azhar, has also been killed during the gunfight. He said that the Army has reason to believe that the particular weapon was given to JeM cadres by the Pakistan Army, clearly showing the "complicity between the Pakistani forces and the Jaish-e-Mohammed". The injured has been rushed to the nearest hospital.

"It is the same group that was wanted for the attack on the police check-post in Rajpora".

It was reported that the incident took place in Aglar Kandi village of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

He said as the forces were conducting searches in the area, they were fired upon by the hiding militants triggering a gunfight. Meanwhile, Internet services have been snapped in Pulwama district in wake of the encounter.

Showkat Ahmad, a civilian, was injured when protesters clashed with the security forces to disrupt the operation against the militants.
